Clinical Overview

Nasya is a therapeutic treatment that involves the administration of medicated herbal oils, juices, or powders through the nasal passages. In Ayurveda, the nose is considered the gateway to the brain and consciousness. This therapy helps clear congestion, detoxify the sinuses, and nourish cognitive pathways.

Procedure & Guidelines

1. The patient lies down with the head tilted slightly backward.

2. A gentle herbal steam inhalation is administered to open sinus channels.

3. The practitioner applies a light massage to the face, cheeks, and forehead.

4. Lukewarm medicated oil (like Anu Taila or Shadbindu Taila) is administered into each nostril.

5. The patient inhales deeply and spits out any residue that reaches the throat.
